ใช้คำที่ให้ในวงเล็บพิมพ์ลงในช่องว่างให้ถูกต้อง past perfect or past simple

Past perfect ใช้กับเรื่องที่เกิด และเสร็จสิ้นแล้วก่อนอีกเรื่องหนึ่งในอดีต เช่น Last night I read the book you had given me.

When Tom arrived, Sue wasn't there. She ______ (go) out.
When John entered the room, Mary _________ (already/sleep).
Last night I felt very tired, so I _____ (go) to bed early.
Our car broke down, so we _______ (stop) and called for help.
The house was very quiet. Everyone _______ (go) to bed.
